This year marked my 20th gingerbread house decorating party. And they just keep getting more fun! This is one of the mini Steam’s favorite parts of the holiday season. They have been asking for two weeks if today is the day to decorate gingerbread houses.
Last year I detailed out how I throw my gingerbread parties. The nice thing about the gingerbread house parties is they take very little to put together, and the kids have just a BLAST!
For appetizers I did easy no fuss no muss appetizers. And as always quilting fabric as a table cloth.
- Cut fruit
- Cut veggies with Greek yogurt dill dip
- Cheese and sausage
- Chili and cream cheese dip
These are my go to appetizers if I am hosting a party with kids. Even if the kids won’t eat what is served for dinner, I know they will eat the fruits, veggies, and cheese and sausage.
The drink table was SOOOOO much fun to put together. Some adult beverages for the moms and dads. And then some punch (1 bottle Squirt & 1 large bottle of Green Berry HI C fruit punch). Both the mini Steams learned the Grinch song and have been obsessed with the Grinch. So I just had to have Grinch punch.
I found some cling vinyl at my craft store and snatched it up earlier this year and have really been getting a lot of use out of it.
Dinner was a soup bar. It was soooo yummy. And bonus there was a ton of soup left over so lunches and dinners for the week are set!
- Beer cheese
- Mock Cream of Tomato
- Spicy Tomato Dill
I’ll post the recipes this week.
