1st Quilt off Millie is D.O.N.E!

I have been so excited about sewing on Millie that I pretty much get done feeding the lil’ Steams, get them to bed and head down to the craft cave to sew. Every time I go down there and see her it so surreal to have my own long arm.

I finally got my first quilt done. Remember the blue Irish chain that I had loaded? Well it took me a month but I got it DONE! There was a LOT of stippling. All the white areas were stippled and the chain itself got orange peels.

I am really happy with how the stippling looks. The blue flowers in the center were left alone and they popped out really nice. The stippling gave me a lot of practice. But phew it took a long time. It took me about 20 min to do each of the white diamonds. You can see the orange peel a little in this shot too. It was super easy to do. And I love using it on squares like the Irish Chain because you don’t need to mark anything.

Here’s the back you can really see how the orange peel looks across the quilt.Irish chain back to see the orange peel

And here’s the Irish Chain FINALLY where it belongs. It only took 9 years to get this on my bed!Irish chain quilting done

I can’t wait to get my next quilt loaded!

About NotYourNormalSteam

I love to make things, food, paper, fabric, the medium doesn’t really matter. I am also an obsessive planner. The day after Christmas I am already working out plans for the next year.
