M came in my room while I was getting ready this morning in just a diaper and declared “I want ducky clothes.” Mr. Steam was getting her dressed and she was evidently protesting because she wanted ducky clothes. Oh dear.
To which I responded in calm Mommy mode “But M you don’t have ducky clothes.”
Now you may recall that she had a ducky 2nd birthday party and got tons of great ducky gifts including several ducky shirts. And you would be right. But being as that was 6 months ago and my daughter is not kind to shirts. She has no fit to be seen in public ducky clothes.
M stomped her little foot and insisted “I want ducky clothes.” And evidently she really did, because she when the whole rest of the morning in nothing but a diaper in protest.
As soon as she walked out I got an instant idea!!!!! I had all the prefect supplies to make her some duck clothes.
I had one toddler shirt left over and I had a little satin duck applique that M had picked out a long time ago at the craft shop. I still had both around because I couldn’t figure out what I wanted to do with them. Don’t ask my why I never thought about putting the two together before now! It all seems so obvious.
All I had to do was add the cut out letters and it was DONE! I even found a left over duck bag from a baby shower and now its wrapped and under the tree for Christmas. You have to love it when a bonus gift practically drops in your lap!
