Coasters make great gifts. They can be quick to make and there are so many different kinds. I made some stamped coasters last year. This year I made some fabric coasters called Cris-Cross Coasters.
You can make a set of 4 coasters from 3 fat quarters and some interfacing. I used fabric from my stash to make them.
Jenny over at All Sorts has a great tutorial. The only problem I had was I kept cutting my fabric the wrong size. Pretty sure my lack of sleep had something to do with that!
Keep in mind her fabric cutting instructions are for a single coaster. You will need to multiply her cutting instructions by 4 to make a whole set. That concept also escaped me. I am thinking that I should not operate the rotary cutter or sewing machine when I stayed up all night with a sick kid.
Even with a lack of sleep these were great fun to make and came together really quick. And if I was able to make them sleep deprived as I was you know Jenny’s tutorial had to be good!
